Get to Know Me

Hi there, my name is Danyel! Here’s a bit to help you get to know me better:

I was born in Brooklyn, New York on June 19th, 1996. I spent my childhood years in California, and I was a competitive gymnast until 2010. I managed to backflip my way into the Orange County High School of the Arts (OCSA) where I got accepted into the Commercial Dance conservatory. I graduated from OCSA in 2014, and attended UCLA, where I majored in World Arts & Cultures/Dance. After graduating in 2018 with my BA, I continued to use the skills I learned to teach dance to high school students. I became a faculty member at my alma mater, teaching hip hop in the Commercial Dance Conservatory as well as becoming a hip hop coach at PV Peninsula High School. While balancing these two jobs I continued to lead my two competitive hip hop dance teams, V Mo and LFG. Most recently at Hip Hop International 2019, V Mo won first place at USA Finals and LFG made it to World Finals and got 3rd place (and the first all female Adult team to represent Team USA at that 😉 ). I pride myself on my work ethic and passion, and I hope to inspire the people around me to unlock their best self.

Now that we’ve got the basics out of the way, let’s get started!
